Academic departments that require employees to use a scaffold shall appoint a “competent person” to supervise the installation, mounting and dismantling of scaffolding. The competent person must understand the rules and regulations that apply to the scaffold, he/she supervises and inspect the scaffolding and manage daily activities involving the use of scaffolding.
Participants attending 8-hour pipe erector refresher training course must present a 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover ID card from an approved training provider.
This scaffold course is intended for workers who are renewing an expired or soon to be expired 32-hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover Refresher ID card to keep on supervising & use supported scaffolds.
